INTERNATIONAL KENJI-DO FEDERATION

TECHNIQUES

Alongside techniques developed by MAEDA , Kenji-do integrates techniques from traditional Eastern European streetfighting, military combat, Boxing, aikido , tenfo , Muay Thai, Western Wrestling, and Ju-Jitsu. This is a list of some of the techniques practiced in Kenji-do, according to the book The Complete Kenji-do by LEVI - KENJI as well as the Kenji-do ( IKDF ).

Arm techniques, leg techniques,head strikes,defense techniques,throws,groundfighting,Gun, Knife,stick defense.

There are 5 variants of application:  for the police and security professionals, for childreens, for womens, for mens, for olds peoples. Those 5 applications of Kenji-do  feature slightly differing techniques due to their specialized applications;  threat-neutralization, or self-defense.


International Kenji-do Federation have developed their own grading system which follows a belt system. Although their system has fewer grades than the above patch system their syllabus covers the same core techniques and principles. The belt ranking system mostly follows this order: Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Brown, Black (dan 1 – 6), Red/White (dan 7), Red (dan 8 , International technical director ),              9 dan ( International director ). International organisations which are led by Maeda's former protégées such as the IKDF (International kenji-do federation - led by Grandmasters Soyana Ulmina , Franck Piccioli and Kravnis Levi ).
